A Fishing Game About Movement
Hii - I broke this link this morning and can't fix it while the jam is running
Here's the link to what I had submitted for the Jam https://devwithlex.itch.io/temp This was up for around 8hrs before I broke it haha
A wise streamer once said that all games should have a fishing minigame - and then started a game jam.
This project was made over a weekend as part of WardstoneStudio's Fundamentals Jam.
This game jam aims to bring in all skill levels in the pursuit of self-improvement and learning! So here's what I focused on:
-
Self-Improvement – Finishing and releasing projects! Something I rarely do… whoops.
-
Learning – Art! I never feel confident with art and wanted to prove that I can make something that looks good without needing to be great at art.
-
A cool movement mechanic – I've done a bit more than just a movement mechanic here, but I built the leaderboards and games around showing people how much they’ve mastered using the mechanic! Also, please pay attention to the string movement when boosting, because I spent like 3 hours working on that, haha!!
This project may lag depending on the performance of your browser. Free up background apps and tabs if you can!

Very fun, congrats on finishing the project !
The art is absolutely serviceable so I'd say you accomplished your goal.
The timer had me in an absolute blind panic, I was fully crashing out, but I had a good time with it.
